So I am on day 3 of exploring self care! My word for the year is exploration so I am looking at all things with an curious eye. Even the simplest of things like self care. I am playing with doing some self care everyday to add more of it to my life for more fulfillment and energy. Our body and spirit likes to receive love and attention. Giving to ourselves is a magic potion that we seem to miss. Take care of yourself first so you can better serve others a law that rewards us with extra juice to share with others. It puts filling up in our control rather than waiting for others to care for us.
Today I want to share my love of elixirs. Count St. Germaine was a Master of elixirs and not doubt I had a life learning with him. He was a French Count that the elite went to for youthful, healthful elixirs. I love taking things, smelling things, surrounding myself with lotions and potions as a woman. Woman were the medicine healers at one time and even today when you are sick, your mom is usually the one dispensing meds or chicken soup. Woman continually share products and tips of ways of health. It is part of our nourishing role. I use these to nourish myself and it greatly supports me. I use Clinical Homeopathy and share remedies with others. This art supports you emotionally with a chronic that helps your basic emotional state to stabilize. If you are overwhelmed, there is an elixir for that. Angry, in grief, low self esteem, etc. all can be managed. We go through phases where different conditions about us warrant some emotional support. I presently am on Nat Mur which is for grief or loss. Many divorced people can get balance from this or one who has lost someone to death. I find this allows me to bring stability to what is and not feel the loss so deeply, kind of expand my energy field to the new condition. I also use acutes as they are called, for colds, skin rashes and the common things of life. I use tinctures and herbal remedies also. Some I use for emotions like anxiety, I take passionflower when I feel that emotion. I take tumeric for inflammation to support my body. I take herbal mixes corresponding to the day I was born for support. I take Nighttime Nirvana if I can't fall asleep. I put magnesium cream on my feet to support that too. I take eyebright to support my glaucoma and cell salts that help with an old mono virus. These are all plant medicines and the body recognizes these ingredients for we are made of the plant, mineral and animal kingdoms. Our body likes the elements of the earth to cure and clear. I use essential oils daily to support my emotional state too. I have Joy and Fun from Young Living, I have Abundance and Stress Relief. I use a peppermint roller for pain as my bengay. They support emotionally, physically on many ways our organs and processes. They are state shifters or mood lifters by awakening our brain through the olfactory system of smell. I use Aurosoma Color Therapy. They have beautiful bottles that all should have on their vanity. They have the same vibration of color, plants, crystals and heal our auric body. I can't really explain them but they work and am always using a color. I love to grab these things throughout the day to shift me, support me or inspire me. I love these self care options and so does my body. I don't take regular aspirin or over the counter drugs. These all help me with no side effects. I encourage you to play with these things! Some more favorites of mine: Auyervedic oils for my face some evenings with my Kasa Wand, Standard Process whole food supplements to aid digestion and help with feminine balance, Asea elixir to support the communication network in my body. flower essences too. I am an elixir Queen. I am curious, try things and see if they work. I like doing things and find it playful and fun. I consider it the art of being a woman! I encourage you to experiment with elixirs for health and self care. This is simple self care you can do throughout your day for yourself. It feels good, supports and gives a magical twist having a purse like a medicine bag. Others giggle at me yet when they have an issue, they ask me what I have to help. They know I use the healing plant kingdom and that it works. That is where all our drugs come from. They like to play with it and me. One of the arts of being a magical woman! I like it! Day 2 of my self care I began with Svaroopa Yoga! It was a tight day and I could of easily skipped it but my body wanted this healing, peaceful practice. So it was a choice in self care, exploring of it that had me go. We all know things we need but let our schedule push them out. I am thankful for going today for I had a great day and although it was busy, so much goodness was accomplished and my attitude so bright. It is so important to remember this when it comes to movement, a key piece to self care.
Our bodies are designed to move and in doing so we heal and clear our energy. Our lymph system of removing waste has no pump so just as a detox, movement key. It supports the junk to flow out of your system. Energetically, movement moves stress. Sound and movement are quicker than thinking is a shamanic law. To feel good, have a positive disposition, to support your state of being, movement is a key to self care. If we don't move, we don't expend energy, support our organs and systems and we will get toxic, lethargic, depressed and heavy. Our vehicle is designed to move just to run properly. For woman, a key to our movement is that we like it and it connects us to our body positively. I don't do hard work outs because I don't like them. I save hard for biking, skiing, hiking and the other fun adventures of living. I consider if I want to maintain my strength and vitality for living, movement should just support my body. If you don't like it, you are also not as likely to stick to something and doing it may put you in adrenal stress which no one needs more of. Often very fit looking people don't have health for they stress their system. That is why we hear of the jogger guy dropping from a heart attack. Knowing how our body works, working with it and in ways it likes is key to self care. Pushing it's limits is not a long term health practice. Woman need a positive body connect for they live more in their emotional nature, are more sense oriented or sensual as part of their child bearing gift and their intuitive nature is housed in the body. If we do not have a positive connect with our body, loving it, finding pleasure in it, adoring it in ways, it will not be good to us. It is a most magical body deva that runs it but she has a child like nature that doesn't like to be berated, scolded, told it is ugly and the like. I alert woman to this truth so they can better find ways to connect, love and play in this body. Connecting to their sensuality key and dance or flowing movement the other. These put us in this parasympathetic nervous system where we are to ride. Often when we do strenuous things, woman are not physically made to do them, we create adrenal stress in our body. We are not like men and using this all the time causes health crisis to our body. We are in enough adrenal stress as it is. No need to make our movement for health add to it. Finding something you love to do that makes you feel good in your body will put you in parasympathetic nervous system of pleasure and oxytocin. Do move your body but do it in ways you like. Ways that are gentle. Ways that make you thankful you have a body. Honor it. It does alot for us without us thinking. It will balance you to health as well of it's own innate way if you are kind, gentle and loving. Consider your body a child, train and love it as one and by all means move it in graceful, playful ways. That is my secret! Connect with me for a free consult! I am very enthused for this next 30 days of exploring self care! I got inspired to join a blog challenge, to blog for 30 days in a row and get my blog about and learn tips. I must admit, it seemed daunting but I love to write so I chose to jump in. As I was going for my New Years walk yesterday to get some fresh oxygen and pleasure of the woods, an idea come in that was so yummy to me!
I heard, "Why don't you blog for 30 days about self care? Do things each day for yourself, explore for yourself and others to learn." Aha! Such fun and pleasurable indulgence! Self care is the greatest elixir out there so why not inspire yourself, others and even get them to share with you their ideas! I got really juiced up with enthusiasm!! Being in a group to complete or inspire tasks is much easier than alone. Doing this blog expansion allows we to interact with other writers, read some cool blogs, get about like minded and be inspired. In doing that for me, I thought how cool would it be to do something with it that would impact us all by exploring self care? If nothing else, I give myself a good practice that fills me up each day! Exciting!! I will never forget when I learned from Perun, a Russian Master that did a retreat on my farm, why woman are unfulfilled. He said woman don't explore themselves for they are busy caring for others and burned out. We become unfulfilled for no one is filling us up. We don't ask others and in fact others can't truly fill us. We must pay attention to what we need and either ask or do it for ourselves. Others can't read our minds so we must tell them. We are not so good at that and think they should know as we know others needs. We are misguided with that belief. He spoke of the power of us having time to ourselves so we can know ourselves and our needs. Without that alone time, reflection time, down time, true self care, we would feel discontent. Everyone needs this alone time, experiences of just ourselves to see what is going on. Woman are less likely to do this for they get so caught up in caring for others. Our innate nourishing quality that is so powerful needs to be used on ourselves as well. Doing it once a week or monthly is not enough. We see how much care others need and we need that just as well. Hearing this created a powerful shift in me. Why was I not giving myself the time, care and nourishment to feed and know myself? It changed me. As we begin our exploration, we need to commit to ourselves this rejuvenation time. There are many ways to do this, to care and know ourselves. This is our 30 day exploration. To see how we can do this, quickly and daily, in large and small ways so we are not feeling unfulfilled or discontented as Perun spoke of. It is the key that we are missing. The know thyself heal thyself commitment that woman push aside for others. Today I began my self care with a facial massage with my Kasa Wand. It can take 3-10 minutes depending on what my schedule is. I chose about 7 minutes to really massage my face, relax while I did it and really luxuriate in it. Finding the places that were tight or had knots or soarness. Our face in eastern medicine is tied to all parts of our body. Really giving tender care to our face, liking our face, finding ways we love how we look is so pow erful in femininity. As we relax, massage our beautiful face that the world sees, we can support all our body. We all have beauty and we should celebrate it in however we can find it. It is what we show to the world. Whether it is our evening wash, a facial, our special creams, these are all great self care. Learn to love your face, your eyes, your unique look with a few extra minutes each day! It was simple, took a few minutes as I got ready for work and most importantly, I savored it. I was present, took time out and could feel the oxytocin buzz. I plan to do some other Tai Chi moves later and look forward to finding little ways to bring in relaxation, oxytocin and pleasure! How will you begin??? Let me know. "
I was on a conference call with a small group of woman from around the world and one of us suggested picking a word. Mine came in clearly after she shared hers of intentionality. Exploration came flying into my head. To explore things, feel ok with uncertainty for in exploration uncertainty is there and it is not a problem. It was clear as day that my year be filled with exploration of new things, ways, people and experiences. I inspire you to pick a word that supports what you would like for your 2019. Flavor it with a simple directive or intention of the thing that you want to bring forward most. I spent New Years Eve and today asking everyone I encounter what would be their word for the year. It has been rewarding and I, too, can support seeing that for them in the moment they share it. "In the beginning, there was the WORD!" A powerful famous phrase! Join us and see if that flavor can direct and guide you. Much more valuable than a resolution, easy to remember and stay on course with. Here are some of the words, flavors I have heard for this 2019! Relax, Release, Forgiveness, Fulfillment, Discipline, Expansion, Transcendence, Self Care, Becoming, Success, Simplify, Presence, Gratefulness. Send me your word if you choose! I would love to hear it!! Bliss, Love, Prosperity and Love to your New Year! |
