We are far too stressed in life! We have forgot what relaxation feels like! We are in cortisol, the stress hormone of the sympathetic nervous system of fight or flight. It is a great system when used in balance with our parasympathetic nervous system of oxytocin, the relaxation and rejuvenation hormone. We must retrain ourselves back to using both health systems. A key to loving our life!
In stress, not much love of anything is about. How can we see the beauty, feel the calm, dance our own rhythm, enjoy the simplicity in life. These are things that indicate we are in relaxation, in this oxytocin and we can bring it in quickly when we understand the feeling of it. It is a body awareness, an energetic state, it is being in a different nervous system than we usually are in. It is uncanny though when we are there and our body just oozes bubbly feelings of golden sparkle as I feel it.
So how do we shift to this system? When we are on vacation we are there, when we finally sit down and just chill in the evening we can often be there, a healing treatment takes us there or an expressive art class. There are many quick shifts that work. We use many but to have awareness, feel the body there, and create more of that is the magic. Then our body begins to do so alone. Music can shift us into all kinds of states, relaxation being one. Taking a few breathes outside can do it. Reading inspiration. Reflecting on our blessings. These all have the power to shift us into parasympathetic healing.
The key is to feel this feeling when you shift. Really sink into the mind, body and emotions that are with you in that moment. I teach lots of ways to do this and people get to experience this shift in a knowing way. It is a clear way of body presence. Once you get it, many of your own actions and simple pleasures can do it. The awareness is key. It is not easy to switch your body out of adrenal stress. It becomes a health practice done in many moments. The innate health system will cooperate with you and take over after some point. But we are really getting into the energy of it and the vibration. Not just a thinking or words.
I have a video on my site with the "Ha" breath of pleasure that is effective for learning this shift. We use sound to trick our body into relaxation. It helps you get the energy of it which is hard to put in words. Definitely give this some playing and practice. It was a great tool for me to learn. You will find more joy, magic and silliness in things. All ways to love your life more in each moment!!
